The Malekus are located in San Rafael de Guatuso (Palenque Margarita, Tonjibe and Sol) in the province of Alajuela. The villages are about 30 Kilometers from Ecolodge Anandamaya. It is one of the smallest indigenous groups in the country. They speak “Maleku” and Spanish and they have bilingual schooling. Their main productivity is agriculture, cacao, pejibaye and they are fishermen. Malekus also work with handicrafts, ceramics, bow and arrows made out of wood.
We are very fortunate to work closely together with the Malekus. You now have the possibility to have a beautiful private and personalized ceremony that will connect with your individual wishes. The experiences of our visitors are amazing and incredible and they are often speechless. A unique chance to unite with an indigenous tribe who will connect you with their ancient wisdom.
